Bullying- is it on the rise?

I’m sure you’ve all seen on Friday the argument that arose in the Oval Office between Trump and Zelensky which resulted in Zelensky being told to leave.

However, many view Trump and his teams’ abusive and harassing remarks as bullying. They mock his combat gear outfit choice as Brian Glenn the chief White House correspondent says, ‘Do you own a suit. Why don’t you wear a suit?’

Trump also refuses to let Zelensky speak and rebukes him saying ‘you’ve done enough talking!’

They also harass him into saying Thank you for America’s support.

This clearly outlines how degrading they are being to Zelensky who just wanted support from the US.

Children are taught from a young age right from wrong and how to show kindness to others; obviously Trump and Vance missed this lesson. But seriously, how can society expect the future generation to be kind and not bully when some of the most important people in the world have publicly been depicted as bullies through treating others poorly who needed support.

It just showcases how prevalent bullying still is and how much work is needed to eradicate it. More than 1 in 5 children in the United Kingdom will be bullied showing how it is on the rise and continues to be a major issue.

Bullying has just long-term impacts on a person’s mental health and self-esteem and these scars will stay on a person forever.

We will never walk in each other’s shoes so remember to be kind.

If you are being bullied or know someone who is, please talk to someone you trust
